Free Special K at Food Lion

Here's a great deal on Special K at Food Lion this week.

ETA (1/1/10) No more prints available for the bogo coupon, so I hope you got yours yesterday!

Special K cereals are 2/$5, and when you buy 5, you instantly get $5 off at checkout. There are some good printables out for this deal, and I know I've seen a lot of peelies on the cereals at the store, plus there's a $1/1 printable at coupons.com for the Blueberry variety. Plus, in the past, when I've used a bogo coupon at Food Lion, the register automatically enters the RETAIL price, not the sale price, as the amount it takes off. I don't know if it will work that way with this coupon (I'll let you guys know) but here's what I'll be doing:

ETA: The coupon will take off $3.40! (I did it today!)

2 Special K $2.50/ea
2 Special K (original) $2.50/ea
1 Special K Blueberry $2.50/ea
$3.00 of fruit
=$15.50

-Instant $5
-2x bogo printable coupon HERE (this coupon specifies original Special K or granola only)- here's the deal, I anticipate this coupon taking off $3.40/each (regular price) instead of $2.50/each (we'll see!) = $6.80
-$1/1 Special K Blueberry ip HERE
-$.50 off fruit wyb Special K printable HERE and HERE x5 = $2.50
=-$15.30

=$.30 oop+ tax

~Also, it appears this bogo q has reset as I printed it once per computer when it was first available (all it would allow) but I was able to print it two more times each!

OR you could do this

3 Special K $2.50/ea
3 Special K (original) $2.50/ea
$3.50 of fruit
=$18.50

-Instant $5
-3x bogo printable coupon HERE (this coupon specifies original Special K or granola only)- here's the deal, I anticipate this coupon taking off $3.40/each (regular price) instead of $2.50/each (we'll see!) = $10.20
-$.50 off fruit wyb Special K printable HERE x6 = $3.00
=-$18.20

=$.30 oop + tax

**
And while you're at Food Lion, don't forget to print the FLips HERE for Food Lion hot chocolate and Swiss Miss hot chocolate, both are free with this coupon this week.

  1. Brandy,

Would Food Lion let you use a coupon on each box? For example use 3 B1G1 and 3 $1 off Blueberry for 6 boxes? This would give you .50 overage if the register only takes 2.50 off for each box on the B1G1.

I haven't shopped Food Lion enough to know their coupon policy.

Thanks for all your great ideas! You're amazing at this!

  2. Karla, unfortunately no. Food Lion is the only grocery store I know of (that I shop at) where you can't use a coupon for the one you buy to get the free one. The registers are set up to attach the bogo to both items. And only a manager can override it, and they usually won't. Luckily, this did take off $3.40! :)
