Kroger Mega 10/25 week, Nashville region

Here are some prices I found. I will match up q's later...

Mega deals are the Kroger deals in which you buy ten participating items and get $5 off your total. Essentially, this means when you buy ten, you get $.50 off each item. The prices I have listed here are the price AFTER the mega $.50 comes off.

ETA: 10/29: I just got back from Kroger and was able to use the $4/2 Rolaids on the 3-pks getting $1 overage each!! I'll post my items in a bit, but that was great overage for Kroger. :)

  1. Which Kroger do you normally go to? Does your Kroger give you overage?

I have only found 1 Kroger in my vicinity that accepts comp Q & sometimes will allow the overage - it seems hit or miss. None of them give overage on doubling the coupon, but I haven't tried on a $/$ item. (i.e. the Knox coupon). I wish I could know more for sure. I hate to "loose" an overage coupon that I could've used at Publix. *sigh*

  2. Jennifer- I shop at a Kroger near me in Clarksville, and I don't know of any that take comp. q's. I generally do the self-checkout as tht is less hassle when it comes to coupons at Kroger. The ones that give me overage are the ones that automatically double (like the disposable gloves- $.50) or the ones that have a high face value, like a $1/1 that is for a $.75 item. Especially with this mega, the register doesn't know that the mega was off each item, so it sees it as the "regular" price before the $.50 is taken off for the mega.
    Does that make sense?

I have never used Knox there. I'd prefer to use it at Publix. :) It might beep, so you might have a "discussion" on your hands, as to whether it is allowed (even though it says "any"). If I didn't have a Publix near me, I'd try it, but I do, so I won't. lol.

  3. Oh and regular doubles are different from the "super-double" events and "triples" in that they will not double/triple over the price of the item, but during regular doubles, I don't have a problem with that.

  4. I didn't realize the doubling was different during double/triple times - that's when I've noticed it. It really frustrated me!

FYI, the Kroger on Franklin Rd in Brentwood (by Chick Fil-A) accepts ALL competitor coupons. They said as long as they sell it in their store, they accept the coupon! *Yippee!* If you do use comp Q, be prepared-they need a supervisor code to enter/override all comp Q.

    I went there on Tuesday & used Publix & GFS (to test the waters). I got 5 papers, 1 Pull-ups, 8 Tombstones, 2 Snuggle, 2 chicken breast & 4 vitamins. Total spent: $14.58 (saved 73.08, 83%)

Oh, and they have their Sundown BOGO too. Happy times. :D

  5. Jennifer- yeah, I guess they change the registers or something because I've never had trouble getting overage normally, but during sd and triples it only goes up to the value of one item (which is a major pain when you are buying "$.75/2" items that have to be manually adjusted for each coupon)

That's cool about the Franklin Rd Kroger! I didn't know that. Great deals on Sundown vitamins there too then!! Hmmm...wonder if they'd take drugstore q's there?? That would be nice!

  6. Yeah they do take drugstore q's at the Franklin Rd Kroger. I've used a Rite Aid coupon there before.

Which insert did the $3/1 Surf q come from? I've been searching and I can't find it.

  7. Daphne- the $3/1 Surf q's have been in the USA Weekend in the Sunday paper. It was in one a month-ish ago, and it was in the one yesterday as well. :)
