Christmas money? Check.

With our extremely limited budget right now, the thing weighing on my mind is finding money to pay for Christmas gifts for my kids and Zachary's birthday.

We don't go all out, just little things, but I do like them to have a variety of fun things to open on Christmas morning.

I am THRILLED to say that the yard sale today was a huge success. I gathered all my stockpile overage, priced it over the last few days and loaded it in the van. My Mom's employer had a huge yard sale today which was nice b/c I didn't have to advertise, set up tables, etc.

I sold 90% (or more) of the items I had out (including all 40+ bags of charcoal) for
$700.

That's right my friends. $700.

Christmas is more than handled. And I can also get some new glasses (which I have been putting off- haven't done in three years), treat my family to dinner out tonight (a very, VERY rare treat) and add to my "van-tire" fund.

Woohoo!!

  1. Wow, you did great! And I know you are thrilled to have to not worry about Christmas.

You should check out zennioptical.com for glasses. They have glasses as cheap as $8.00. I know, sounds too good to be true, but I've gotten both my sons glasses from there and they are really good glasses. My middle son said he liked the $8.00 glasses better than he did the ones I'd paid almost $200.00 for. And he's been wearing them 2 years (too long, I know, I need to make us eye appts) but anyway, they are good quality glasses and haven't tore up and sprung or lens fell out or anything.

I think you can get an eye exam at Walmart or Target for like $50?
I just printed the paper from the zenni website and told the eye doc I needed the certain measurements and he wrote them in for me. No problem with not buying the glasses at Walmart.

Now, if we could just figure out how to get a deal on tires. I need some, too.
