Rite Aid and Walgreens. A great week!

This morning I walked into Walreens the moment they opened the doors and was there for over an hour. I would have gotten out of there faster but the girl that normally works the cosmetics counter called out sick so I had to keep stepping out of line to let other people check out. (Ok, I didn't have to, but I think it's the nice thing to do when you've got 15 transactions.)

I won't break it all down, but here's what I got in those 15 transactions. (I wanted to get a Murine, but they didn't have any in stock).

  1. Wow, fantaskit deals!

I've made up my Wags list and plan to go tomorrow (whether I actually do or not...). I don't really want to, but I have RRs I've got to roll or lose.

I don't really want to play Rite Aid anymore either, but I feel like I ought to get those free J&J Baby things because I have several people that could use them. And I thought I had managed to miss that Covergirl deal. If it had been something I was really wanting, I'd never see the deal again.

Did your $5/$20 RA q's beep?

  2. I am lucky- I have a great Wags and Rite Aid. :) I thught I'd pass on J&J, but I may change my mind on that. . . we'll see.

Nope. No beeping on the $5/20's. The Covergirl q's did all sorts of beeping, but the awesome Asst. Mgr just pushed them all through. (She coupons too) ;) Love her.

  3. I maybe remembered wrong; I think the $5/$20 didn't beep, but won't scan at all. Usually it's no big deal but sometimes I get the ones that try to tell me they can't take it if it don't scan.

After this mornings shopping trip I had totally talked myself out of doing Rite Aid this week. I said to myself "I'll wait until I get a rebate check and then go shopping again".

Got home to find a rebate check waiting for me. LOL

  4. Melissa- I think it scanned. I'm not totally sure, but pretty sure. LOL at the rebate check waiting for you. heh.

  6. Bethany- ROFL!
Rite Aid has Covergirl on sale this week, buy-one-get-one-free. There were coupons in the paper a bit ago, Buy one foundation, get a face product for free. So if you buy two foundations, two face products, and it's around $20, then use a $5/$20 (from the Video Values) or a $5/25 (from coupons.com) you get the make up for free and the extra $5 pays for something else!
I also used a $1/1 to pay for the "make-up you buy to get the free one" with the Covergirl q, since you can stack a store sale with an mq. But this will be YMMV as some stores won't allow this.
Some stores will also balk at using a bogo q with a bogo sale, but Rite Aid's corporate policy states that you may do this. Some managers just freak out when you "get something for free". You know how it is. Same old drill.

  7. Thanks! :) I went today but screwed it up! Actually, between the cashier, manager, and my SCREAMING 2 year old, I guess I did good to leave with my head still attached!!! I forgot to take the $1 MQ and then the cashier refused to let me use my $5/$25 before my coupons, so I ended up throwing in tons of gum. I am taking back the gum as I do not need since I can get it free at Publix on any given day. :) My total was still high because I bought pull ups. But, I figured out another way to get a pack of Pull Ups free to make up for my rough first trip. Thanks a bunch!!!
