Rain, rain.

All my local Nashville Mamas and shoppers, I hope you are safe and dry! We are having some seepage up from the ground into our basement carpet (unfortunately under my husband and I's computer desks!!) through a crack in the foundation, I suppose, and our driveway is washing gulleys into the gravel. Plus the road from our house is closed due to flooding by the creek nearby, but so far, other than that, we're good!

My husband has already been called and told they will not be working tomorrow due to the Pepsi plant being out of power (next to the big Substation that is under water off Briley Pkwy) and all the roads closed due to flooding, they don't want to send the delivery trucks out...

This is really insane ya'll.

Be safe!!!

  1. It IS insane. Schools already closed for tomorrow. I've never seen so much rain- and I'm from WA state! So far we haven't had much leakage and we live at the top of a hill- not sure what the bottom of the hill looks like though!

  4. Glad to hear you are doing good. I work for Metro and we're closed today as well. We live in Franklin which has many roads closed due to flooding and the kids are out of school. Fortunately our house is perched on a slight incline so no flooding.

  6. Thanks everyone- we're safe and mostly dry. We have some flooding nearby and the creek down from us is flooded over roadways.

My Mom, Dad and brother all work for Gaylord/Opryland and all are out of work due to the hotel being evacuated. It is crazy. My biggest worry now is that we all have enough vaca/sick/personal time to continue to get paid while they are out of work.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

  7. Definitely be careful! I know when we left this morning, my son stopped abruptly and just stood in the rain for a minute surveying our flooded yard. He asked "Momma, you sure we can't just stay home today?!" We didn't flood enough for anything to close down in lower Alabama. (darn!) Oh, how I would have loved to have kept him and I both home today.
