Flood

Pictures I took of my daughter on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in October of 2007.

Picture taken on Monday, May 3, 2010. Grand Ole Opry Underwater.
Devastating and heartbreaking.

  1. I am so sorry to see all the damage that the floods have done. My heart goes out to all of the families, jobs and businesses who have been devastated and displaced. HUGS and prayers !

  3. Oh...so heartbreaking. I was so sad to see the pictures of Opryland Hotel under water. We always take out-of-town visitors there & greatly enjoy visiting.

In positive news, I heard that Gaylord is keeping all of their employees on the payroll during the reconstruction process. I hope that is a blessing to your family members!

  4. Jennifer- yes, we have heard those rumors circulating, but no one has confirmed anything to the employees. One new station said they would remain "on payroll" which means they will have a job when the hotel reopens, but doesn't mean they will have a paycheck every week and another station reported they will continue to be paid... it remains to be seen what truly is the case.
Suspicion abounds that it will be the former and not the latter, with employees having to file for "disaster unemployment". *sigh*
