How to be a cheap date

Since having children, my husband and I don't get out much. I often reminisce about my pre-child days, when I could just run out to pick up food, or go see a movie whenever I wanted without having to worry about the kids.
I LOVE my kids! But it's a whole different world.

So we haven't been to a movie in ages and for Christmas, we received two free movie tickets, so we figured we would take advantage of those and go see Clash of the Titans.

If we had not had the free tickets, I would have used my code from Fandango and Tropicana from last week's big deal to get bogo tickets, saving $7.

As it was, we saved $7/ea on the movie tickets by using the free ones given to us.

Then I used the coupon from Facebook for a FREE popcorn at Regal theatres. I printed two, one for me and one for my husband. We went to separate lines, since it was "one per customer" and each got a free popcorn.

Then, I entered my codes from my bogo Kelloggs cereal I bought at Publix last week HERE to earn prizes. When you enter 3 codes, you get $5 in concession cash. So I then went back and used my $5 concession cash to get two small drinks. They were $4.50/ea, so $4 after my $5 discount.

Grand total for two movie tickets, two small popcorns and two small drinks: $4.00
Total saved: $29.50

  2. Glad you all got a good, cheap date night away from the kids. You are amazing...guess I'm just lazy. I don't do rebates as much as I should or check out squeezing a deal or event for all it's worth...I admire those like you who do so much !!!

  3. We saw Clash of the Titans - hub and I both loved the original(cheesefest that it was) and ignored the bad reviews, and it was pretty good! The cg was amazing anx the effects creating Hades (played by Ralph Fienes) was awsesome. We really enjoyed it. (a shirtless Sam Worthington - added bonus!). ;)
