Allergies got you down?

If you're an allergy sufferer like me, the spring is beautiful, but hard to get through. I know my days are one sneeze at a time. Itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, blowing my nose. It's lots of fun. I have been keeping Visine, Benadryl, Zyrtec and tissues in my car. Just in case.

So luckily for us, the drugstores are taking care of us to keep the cost of those allergy meds down!

Benadryl at Wags
monthly deal: Buy two Benadryl, Sudafed, and ear $5 rr.
Benadryl is regularly priced $4.69 at my store, and several other of the varieties are $4.99 on sale this week.
The new $5/2 coupon in today's paper would be good on this, BUT! The coupon is coded the same as the RR deal, so if you use the coupon and buy the products, you won't get the RR. The register thinks you've used a RR to get the same deal, and we all know you can't do that. There is a way around this. 1) You can ask "pretty please" if the cashier can manually enter $5 vendor coupon instead of scanning the coupon. (if your store knows you, or is aware of the problem with his coupon, they may be fine with this. I did this today and it worked fine.) or 2) You can buy them without the coupon, then say oh, OOPS! I forgot to give you my coupon! And they will reimburse you the $5.

So, if you can get this deal, Free (or MM) Benadryl! Woohoo!!

Zyrtec deals at Rite Aid
Seriously SUPER Zyrtec deals at Rite Aid. Not only on brand name Zyrtec, but also on the Rite Aid brand Zyrtec (Cetirizine or something).

With Zyrtec, you get a double dip.
*Zyrtec and Benadryl have a 3-limit Allergy SCR #553 deal, Spend $75 on Zyrtec or Benadryl and get a $20 Rite Aid Gift Certificate

For the Rite Aid brand Zyrtec product, Cetirizine, you also qualify for the Allergy Rebate.
Here is a $5/1 Cetirizine Rite Aid coupon HERE that you can print multiples of.
The week of 4.25.10 The Cetirizine is bogo, so you could buy two for the price of one and use two of the $5/1 RA coupons.

Do this:
2x Cetirizine $17.99 bogo
$2.01 filler
Use $5/20
$5/1 Cetirizine RAq's x2
=$5 oop and earn $17.99 toward the Allergy rebate!

  1. Very disappointing about the problem using the $5/2 coupon. But, thanks for the heads up.

  2. Wow! Sounds complicated.... if we ending up needing the allergy meds might take it on or some of it anyway. So far, we aren't too bad allergy wise. I don't get any at all and my husband does some but not so bad out here as in Seattle. So far, the kids have been fine too.

  3. I just called my favorite store to tell the Store Manager about the problem with the $5/2 mq. He thanked me for the heads up and I told him if the coupon was manually keyed in it would work. :)

Colleen- lol! It's not that bad really. Just that there are two different deals you can earn rebates for. If you buy $75 of Zyrtec total (in multiple trnasactions) you get a $20 certificate from the allergy program and then when you buy $50, you also get a $25 gift card as well. So spend $75, get $45 back, but when you break it up, using $5/20s you can save additional money with those q's.
