Couponing and Giving

There are a lot of great benefits to "extreme couponing". Free food. Trying new products and being able to give things to others.
I am routinely giving away food now. Every shopping trip to Publix results in me giving food to family members. And Friday I was able to go to the Food Bank and donate 6 bags full of food- all kinds of things, from rice and baby food to cartons of organic milk (not requiring refrigeration) and of course some bbq sauce. ;)

We do not have a lot of disposable income right now. Ok, we have hardly ANY disposable income, and the fact that we are able to donate to others, despite hardly being able to make ends meet ourselves is an amazing thing indeed- and it feels really good.

I also FINALLY found a place to donate all the Bayer meters I had. I had 51 of them and I took them into my midwives group. They have a clinic where a large percentage of the clientele is hispanic, with no insurance, many of them developing gestational diabetes while pregnant. They were very, very grateful to get these meters to share with the women there, and I was very happy to move them out of my house and into a place that will be able to make good use of them.
