A great week!

This has been a great week.

I have been so busy shopping and trying to tell all of you about the good deals I've been finding that I haven't told you what I have bought. :)

I spent around $3 at Publix and saved around $400 on Monday.

Rite Aid- I spent around $80, but will get back somewhere in the neighborhood (ballparking here) of $140 for what I bought.

Walgreens- by far my best deals. I started the week with around $40 in rr's. I spent no more than a bit over tax on all the stuff I bought- Probably around $40, and today I had $105 in rr's when I was done. I decided to blow a bunch of rr's on stuff. :) Bought my 4-year old a Disney princess thermos that was on clearance, bought some other clearance items to build up my Christmas gift baskets, some of the Indiana popcorn that has a coupon in the October IVC book, and some drinks. And I still have $80-ish in rr's!!

CVS- bought some of the free after ecb's Glade candles with $3/1 mq's making them moneymakers. I didn't have any ecb's to roll, so I paid some oop but have $7/ea ecb's left to rolllllll

Kroger- found some bogo Glade coupons that I hope to be able to use at Target once our Target stores get the holiday candles in that offer the $5 gift card. (more on that moneymaking deal later...)

This is the weekend to find LOTS of papers

That's right folks, the Bayer Meter coupon is back!

For those just starting this coupon thing- you may not know but this is a great coupon. It allows for "Up to $30 off" any Bayer Contour or Breeze 2 monitor (for diabetics).

These guys periodically have good money-making deals at Wags and CVS. The best one was at Wags. The monitors were $9.99 and you got $10rr for each one you bought! (free after rr). Well, buy one monitor, use your coupon and get it free, (only pay tax) and out pops a $10rr!!

The $10rr was more rare, but they seem to have $5 rr/ecb deals about once every 6 weeks or so.

I will be buying a lot of papers this weekend. And hitting the recycle bin. Several of them. (Lindsey, it might be time for me to come take a peek in the one you visit! :) )

What to do with the monitors? Donate them. I donated 52 monitors to the midwifery group I went to to deliver my children. They have a clinic in a low-income area where many of the moms are uninsured and they were thrilled to get these for the Moms who are diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, and I was thrilled that I could give them to a group that I felt good about. (Love my midwifery group)

Allright, I want to preface this with...I don't know if this will work because of coupon wording. BUT several people have reported that they were able to do the deal, so I want to pass it along, because it's a great one if you a) feel comfortable doing it and b) have lenient cashiers/managers who will let you.

Deal: Children's character Band-Aids

Coupons Needed:
*$3/2 Johnson's blinkie mq from Publix (or other store) or $.50/1 or $1/1 mq from 8/2 SS
*Children's activity booklet coupons from Walgreens. Booklet can usually be found in the pharmacy, NOT with other workbooks. Booklet costs $.99 and coupons can be scanned and reused- you don't need to hand them over.
*10/11-10/17 weekly ad.

Children's Character Band-Aids are regularly $3.79.
In this week's ad, there is an in-ad q making these $1.99/ea.
Activity booklet coupon takes off $2/ea
Manufacturer's coupon is overage.

So, this is how you hand over your coupons to make this work:
Scan items.
Hand cashier any manufacturer's coupons.
Have cashier scan activity booklet Walgreens coupon.
Have cashier scan in-ad coupon.

Make sure you get extra items to cover overage. I recommend buying items that earn rr's, then you have an even bigger moneymaker. :)

The problem is that wording on the Activity booklet coupon states "off regular retail". This indicates that the coupon should actually not be used on sale items or in conjunction with the in-ad coupon.

Make of this what you will, but I wanted to share because it IS a great deal if you are successful! (especially for those of you with a four-year old like mine who insists on a band-aid for every "ouch")

A change

I am making a change in my blog. I feel like I've been neglecting my kids because I have been so focused on my deals. :(
